FOUR Sussex regions are among the safest in England, new data reveals.
The research analysed Office of National Statistics burglary figures provided by police forces across the UK between 2017 and 2021.
Horsham ranked sixth in the list of safest places with 0.86 burglaries per 1,000 people last year. It was closely followed by Wealden with 0.92.
The 13th and 14th spots were taken by Rother and Adur with 1.05 and 1.06 burglaries per 1,000 people respectively.
Jessica Willock, home insurance expert at financial services platform Confused.com which carried out the study, said: “Although burglary rates seem to be dropping year on year, it’s still as important to make sure your home is safe.
“Our guide to protecting your home from burglars outlines some of the most effective ways of keeping your house safe.
“This includes some simple changes, such as investing in smart home security.
“Nowadays, technology has advanced to give us cheap, easy to install smart home devices such as doorbells and automated lights.
“These let you know who’s outside without you needing to go near the door.”
