A MAN has been airlifted to hospital following a serious two car collision which caused a road to be closed for seven hours.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash in Crowborough Hill, Crowborough, around 4.25pm on Monday, May 23.
A blue Volkswagen Golf collided with a black BMW near to the junction with Church Road.
Following the collision the driver of the blue Volkswagen, a 24-year-old man, was taken to hospital by air ambulance with what were thought to be serious, life threatening injuries. These injuries are no longer life threatening injuries but he remains in hospital.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 40-year-old man, was also taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg.
The road was closed for around seven hours while emergency services attended the scene.
Any witnesses to the collision or anyone who has dashcam footage which could help officers with their investigation is asked to report it to police by emailing collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk or call 101 quoting Operation Marchwood.
