A CARE group is tackling loneliness in a community by hosting a dress up and dance event.

Live-in care provider Promedica24 and The Glamour Club are continuing their partnership with a series of fun afternoons, featuring live entertainment and socialising.

The Glamour Club has held vintage-themed soirees in an effort to beat isolation caused by social exclusion since 2018.

We’ll Meet Again is the next to take place and will be held at St Stephen's Church in Angola Road, Worthing, with artist Alison Lapper MBE in attendance, on Saturday, June 4.

Chris White-Smith, care consultant at Promedica24, said: “As live-in care providers, we know that everyone can struggle with loneliness sometimes.

“Connecting and socialising with others is essential to our wellbeing, and The Glamour Club gives people the opportunity to dress up, dance and meet people they may not have come across before, and this is a truly invaluable experience.

“I believe all attendees and volunteers of The Glamour Club can feel the warmth and joy in the room, and I invite anyone who has ever felt lonely to join us.”

Glamour Club volunteers are dementia trained and disability confident.

Up to 60 partygoers can attend. Tickets cost £10 and can be bought via the Glamour Club website. They include afternoon tea with unlimited cups of tea or coffee.
