If you were going for a coffee and a cake with a friend from out of town, where would you take them in Sussex?

“Generally, I make the cakes myself. But I used to love it when Infinity Foods had their own little café.

“They had the best almond Bakewell tarts, so that was always my favourite for coffee and cake.”

What is the best shop in Sussex?

“There used to be a little boutique shop where a lady used to make own unique things in The Lanes.

“Nowadays, I don’t get much time to go around Brighton shopping.”

Whether it be for a concert, comedy or theatre, what is the best venue around?

“Interestingly, when I was kid, my dad thought he was a reincarnation of Richard Wagner.

“So we used to go to the Brighton Centre. I’ve seen Eddie Izzard, Michael Bublé – some really great concerts.

“And then a few dive bars where you can see a few up and coming bands I’ve really enjoyed.

“There was one disco that was on the beach that me and the girls used to go to until four in the morning in our 20s, but I’m passed all that now. It’s all a bit noisy.

If you’re looking to escape the city, what is your favourite outdoors place to visit?

“Austria is my second home. When I got into ski racing and competing, I used to go the top of a glacier and switch off from the world.

“That’s my real heaven. Nobody knows who you are, and you’re hidden away.”

And lastly, whether it be for a drink or a sit-down meal, what is the best bar, pub or restaurant in Sussex?

“My favourite restaurant is Moshimo, and I love going to Food For Friends

“I introduced Carl Jones, the owner of Moshimo, to vegan food. He’s held a lot of vegan events there now.

“They have vegan night on a Wednesday, so I love going to that restaurant.”
