AN E-SCOOTER rider was injured in a hit and run crash.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision involving a car and the e-scooter in Woodsgate Park, Bexhill.

A 32-year-old man riding the e-scooter needed hospital treatment for his injuries.

The car is believed to be dark coloured, possibly an Audi, police said.

The driver did not stop.

Investigating officer Police Constable Stuart Kenway, from the Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

“It happened near the junction of Woodsgate Park and Buxton Road. The rider travelled south down Buxton Road, while the car travelled in Woodsgate Park in the direction of London Road.

“In particular, we wish to speak to the driver of the vehicle in connection with this incident, and with two women who stopped to help the e-scooter rider.”

Anyone who saw the crash, which happened at about 9pm on May 18, or anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage in the area at the time is also asked to come forward.
