AN abnormal load is set to cause miles of traffic delays as it travels across the county.
Sussex Roads Policing Unit said the load will be transported from Henfield to Shoreham on Monday.
It will begin its journey from Henfield northbound via Kidders Lane and the A281 before travelling along the B2116 and B2118 at Albourne to Hurstpierpoint.
From there, it will travel on the B2117 to the A23 southbound, and from there onto the A27 westbound.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “The escort will leave the A27 at Hangleton on the A293, and will travel on the A270 and A259 towards its final destination at Shoreham.
“Motorists are advised that the vehicles will be travelling at slow speeds and some delays may be expected.”
Sussex Police have been approached for further details on the load.
It comes after the transportation of essential national grid equipment caused long tailbacks in March.
The load measures more than 70 metres in length.
