New Love Island Contestant Luca Bish says looking for a “genuine” relationship when he enters the villa.

The ITV2 reality show is back on ITV2 Monday, June 6 at 9pm, helping new crop of contestants looking for love.

And now Luca, a fishmonger from Brighton, is set to enter the Mallorcan villa as part of the show’s main cast.

The 23-year-old says he applied for the show after coming out of a long-term relationship.

He said: “When you look actually look back at Love Island, you can see how many couples it’s genuinely made. I don’t know how many kids Love Island has made but there are a few aren’t there?

“I came out of a four-year relationship about a year ago. I was enjoying being in a relationship, there were just things I didn’t like, and we drifted apart.”

Luca said he isn’t a fan of dating apps, or online dating and prefers to meet girls in person.

He said: “I prefer to meet girls out and about. I think when you go looking for it, it’s not as easy though, it’s like you’re too desperate for it.

“If I think you’re the one or I like you, I’ll take you out on a date but other than that, if we talk and I don’t like where it’s going - then I won’t be throwing out dates.”

Luca will join dozens of other contestant for the eighth series of the ITV show.

Among the other contestants is dancer Tasha Ghouri, from Thirsk, North Yorkshire.

The 23-year-old, who has a cochlear implant, she is heading into the villa to find “the one” as she feels her dating life is a “shambles”.

She also admitted that although she is a “girls’ girl” she is willing to step on some toes “in the nicest way possible” in her quest to find a man.

Another contestant for the 2022 line-up is Davide Sanclimenti, 27, from Rome, who said he is going to bring his “Italian charm” to the villa.
