Reports of violence and sexual offences were the highest reported crime in March, according to the latest police data.

Figures from police.uk show there were a total of 1,303 crimes reported across the county in March.

Violence and sexual offences was the most reported crime - with 595 reports - across Basingstoke in March.

This was followed by anti-social behaviour which was reported 139 times in the same month.

Across the town the third highest crime was criminal damage and arson which received 127 reports.

Public order offences (119), shoplifting (60) and other theft (84) all received similar rates of reports throughout March in the Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council area.

The lowest reported crimes were theft from a person (8), bicycle theft (8) and robbery (11).
