TWO teenagers have been arrested after a man was taken to hospital by air ambulance following reports of a fight.

Police were called to St Mary’s Avenue in Hailsham around 9.10pm on Thursday, June 2.

Two 18-year-old men from Eastbourne have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of cannabis.

A man suffered head injuries and was taken to hospital by air ambulance. It is unclear what condition he is in.

The incident is still under investigation. Both men also remain in custody.

Detective inspector Caroline Williams said: “This incident remains under investigation and, as such, the public can expect to see a heightened police presence in the area.

“It is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the public.
