AN 18-YEAR-OLD suffered serious facial injuries during an assault inside a supermarket.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault in a Co-op store in Milfoil Drive, Eastbourne, on Thursday, May 26.
A man, aged 18, was involved in an altercation inside the store at about 5.40pm, before the incident continued into the street outside.
The man was then assaulted, before the suspect left the scene.
He suffered serious facial injuries and received medical treatment.
A suspect was identified and on Sunday, May 29, an 18-year-old man from Eastbourne was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
He has since been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
Police say they would like to speak to anybody who witnessed the incident, or the circumstances leading up to it.
