AUTHORS from across the city have joined forces to create an anthology of short stories featuring Brighton in all its complex glory.

Brighton and Beyond features stories from 18 authors, including dark folklore and fantasy, romance, magic realism and even three distinctive takes on a circus.

Anna Burtt, director of publishers West Hill Writers, said she is really proud of the book and its collection of stories.

She said: “It is a diverse collection of riveting reads and I’m sure there is something in there to be enjoyed by every avid reader, especially those who love Brighton.”

Authors include Ciar Bryne, Kathleen Forn, Kate Marsh, Paula Seager, Mona Walsh and Maggie Winters.

The writers have gathered over the past few years to create short stories, flash fiction, creative nonfiction and poems set in Brighton, throughout the UK and around the globe, and across the past, present and speculative future.

The anthology, launching today, can be ordered from West Hill Writers’ website or from bookshops across the country.
