HUNDREDS of people have gathered for the grand return of an agricultural show with livestock competitions and show jumping.
The three-day programme of The South of England Show promises to be bigger and better than ever, with more than 100 different things to see and do.
The show has returned to its agricultural roots with cattle, sheep, goat and pig judging, as well as equine events, while also featuring displays from the Army and a garden design competition.
Shoppers have been enjoying culinary delights from local and independent producers, as well as browsing through a selection of clothing, pet accessories, rural crafts, plant and garden supplies, independent boutique stands, and even a range of cars and tractors.
Visitors can also see farm machinery through the ages, take part in axe throwing, and experience traditional countryside activities and crafts such as country sports with gundogs, hounds and birds of prey.
