POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a crash left a woman with serious injuries on the A27.

The incident happened shortly before 11.45am at the roundabout connecting the A27 with the A22 Golden Jubilee Way in Polegate on Sunday, June 12.

Four fire engines, as well as police and ambulance crews, attended the incident.

A silver Peugeot 206 Coupe collided with a grey Dacia Duster.

The driver of the Peugeot, a 41-year-old woman from Hailsham, was taken to hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries after her car was left overturned.

The driver and passenger of the Dacia suffered minor injuries. The road remained closed for several hours.
