A MAN has been given a suspended jail sentence after pleading guilty to possessing cannabis, including lollipops, chews and sweets laced with the drug.
Christopher Nolan, 33, was sentenced to 21 months imprisonment, suspended for two years, after he admitted producing a quantity of cannabis.
This charge relates to producing 19 cannabis plants, a controlled Class B drug, at Chichester between October 1 and October 25, 2019.
Nolan also pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis at Gatwick on November 2, 2019 and received a 21-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, to run concurrently.
The court was also told that on November 2 at Chichester he had in his possession 110 “gummy style sweets” and two lollipops which contained the cannabinol derivative Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), a controlled drug of Class B.
For this offence he received a 21-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, to run concurrently.
In addition to this, he further pleaded guilty to having in his possession at Gatwick on November 2, 2019, five “sour apple chews”, which contained THC, and a quantity of cannabis at Chichester on the same day.
There were no separate penalties for these offences.
During sentencing at Hove Crown Court, Nolan, of High Street, Thames Ditton, was also ordered to undertake 240 hours’ unpaid work.
