BRIGHTON is set to be swamped with stags and hens this weekend with more groups heading to the city than Las Vegas, Amsterdam and Krakow combined.

According to the firm Last Night of Freedom, more than 100 groups are expected to flock to Brighton despite the rail strikes taking place this week.

Industry data supplied by the firm reveals that 111 stags and hens are expected to descend on the city from June 24 to 26.

Outside of Britain, only Benidorm is expected to have more pre-wedding parties – with Brighton proving more popular than traditional party hotspots such as Budapest and Barcelona.

The Argus:

Last Night of Freedom’s managing director Matt Mavir said: “Brighton has sun, sea and sensational nightlife so it isn’t a huge surprise stags and hens are desperate to visit.”

In comparison, Las Vegas is expected to host 30 British stags and hens, with 56 visiting Amsterdam and just 18 heading to Krakow.

Matt added: “Fewer groups are visiting eastern Europe, with more opting to stay at home and enjoy themselves before the big day.

“About 75 per cent of bookings post-pandemic have been in Britain, and Brighton has benefited big time from that boom as revellers realise that you get the best of both worlds.

“It is usually hot, there are golden sands and you can book everything from body painting to a Justin Bieber dance class, so it really is the town that has something for everyone.”

Brighton’s popularity comes despite the fact it was recently named as the seventh most expensive place on Earth for a stag or hen party.

According to data from Hotels.com, Las Vegas is the most expensive, while Portugal’s capital Lisbon is considered to be a more affordable destination.

Matt said: “Stags and hens tend to be in their 20s and 30s, and have had a really rough two years due to covid.

“This year is on-track to be our busiest ever because groups have been desperate to get away and make memories with their mates, which are ultimately priceless.”
