A MAN has been fined for driving with metal not strapped down in the rear of the car.
Lester Manners has been ordered to pay a total of £344 by Hastings magistrates after being caught driving on the A27 near Falmer with a quantity of metal protruding from the rear of the car.
The 54-year-old was proved guilty in a single justice procedure of using a vehicle in a condition likely to cause danger or injury.
Manners, of Rosehill, Port Isaac, Cornwall, was fined £220 and given three points on his licence.
He will also have to pay £90 in court costs and a surcharge of £34 to fund victim services.
