A TRAIN line has been closed due to a fault with the signalling system.

The fault occurred between Eastbourne and Ashford International, with Southern reporting that all lines are disrupted.

No trains are able to move in the area between Eastbourne and Hastings.

A spokesman for Southern said: “We are currently unable to run services between Eastbourne and Hastings.

“If you can, please delay travel until later.

“If this is not possible, you will need to use an alternative route, and your journey may take up to an additional 60 minutes.”

Passengers have been told they can use their ticket at no extra cost on:

  • Thameslink services between Brighton and London
  • Southeastern services between Hastings, Ashford and London (excluding High Speed services)
  • London Underground via any reasonable route
