A BEACH hut has sold for £15,000 over the asking price in less than 24 hours after hitting the market.

The cabin on Beach Green, Shoreham Beach, sold for £65,000 after bidders battled it out to own the seaside shack with stunning views.

Sold by Warwick Baker estate agents, the small beach hut had just three viewings before it was quickly snapped up.

The estate agents said that within a day they received five offers on the property, which is one of dozens dotted along the beach.

The Argus:

Inside the cabin, the walls are painted white with two shelves already fixed to the back wall.

It also has a retractable wooden deck - which the new owners can place their chairs on to soak up the sunshine in the summer months.

Branch manager for Warwick Baker, George Hill said: “The property market in Shoreham is extremely busy and has been for a while now.

“From £3m properties on the Foreshore to Beach Huts we have a long list of buyers.”

The Argus:

It is not uncommon for beach huts on the Sussex coast to cost anything from £10,000 to £40,000, but this sale is especially high.

Following the first heat wave of the year, it is likely that demand for these seafront cabins will only increase as temperatures continue to rise.
