FIRE crews have tackled a fire in a first floor flat.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the blaze in Seaside Road, Eastbourne, at 7.50pm on Sunday, July 3.

Pictures from the scene show smoke inside a first floor flat, while a large number of firefighters and vehicles were also pictured.

A total of six fire engines from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident and the fire was brought under control.

An East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews have dealt with a fire on Seaside Road in Eastbourne, in the area near St. Aubyns Road.

“The fire is under control, but the area is closed off and should be avoided.”
