POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was injured in a hit and run crash.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the B2112 New Road shortly after 6am on Sunday, July 3.
Police said the incident happened between Ditchling and Clayton.
“We’re currently investigating a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle which failed to stop at the scene,” a police spokesman said.
A sign has been placed at the scene of the crash by police asking for witnesses to come forward.
Sussex Police officers are especially keen to hear from anyone who saw a white van, possibly with a 2015 plate, which has damage to its headlight and is missing its onside wing mirror.
A section of the road remained closed for a period of time, and motorists were urged to seek alternative routes.
Anyone who saw what happened or captured the incident on dash cam is urged to email collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk quoting Operation Kempston.
