PICTURES show emergency services on the scene after a man fell from a third floor window this morning.

The man was left with “life-threatening injuries” after falling from the window in Russell Mews, Brighton.

Police were called around 7.05am and cordoned off the area while an ambulance also attended.

One tradesman said they saw “blood on the pavement” – while ambulance crews appeared to be taking pictures of the scene.

Sussex Police have since confirmed that a man is believed to have fallen from the open window of the flat.

A spokesman said: “Emergency services were called to a report of man who was believed to have fallen from a third-floor window of a flat in Russell Mews, Brighton, at 7.05am on Tuesday, July 5 and suffered serious, life-threatening injuries.

“The public are asked to avoid the area where possible and a further update will be issued in due course.”

A tradesman told The Argus: "There's lots of blood on the pavement. We’re doing a job in the area.

"We can get over there, but just waiting at the moment.

"It looks like whatever happened was down in the alleyway over there.”

Three police cars and an ambulance were in attendance and the road was closed off, but it was reopened around 9.45am.
