POLICE have carried out foot patrols in a town centre amid ongoing antisocial behaviour.

Officers from Arun Police have stepped up their presence in Bognor town centre in an attempt to combat the issue.

A police spokesman said the neighbourhood policing team has spoken with locals about their concerns.

“Our Neighbourhood Policing Team continue their regular foot patrols of Bognor town centre, liaising with local business, town users and combating antisocial behaviour in the area.

“We always appreciate a hello when you see us, and please continue to report any concerns you have, in person or through the website.”

Last week, officers from Brighton and Hove Police stepped up their presence in the Regency ward of the city amid ongoing antisocial behaviour.

“They were able to meet and chat with the local community, and apart from speaking to some youths drinking, they were pleased to report that there were a lot of people out enjoying themselves safely and responsibly,” a police spokesman said.

Arun Police also announced an increase In patrols in antisocial behaviour ”hotspots” in and around Felpham and Rustington.

A police spokesman said the “targeted patrols” were in response to concerns by members of the local community.
