A CARE home has been given a national award for its staff’s "exceptional" work during the pandemic.
Barford Court Care Home manager Deidre Johnson was given a British Citizen Corporate Award in recognition for her leadership during Covid.
Further staff at the home in Hove, which supports older people with residential care and dementia support, have been awarded a British Citizen Award Certificate of Recognition for their “exceptional endeavours in the workplace community”.
Receiving the award, Deidre Johnson said: “It’s a real honour to be recognised for the work that we do, as well as each of our staff members, who go over and above every day to support the residents within our care.
“It has been a challenging few years, but we have emerged stronger and closer as a team.”
The British Citizen Awards aim to recognise individuals doing “extraordinary” things in the local community.
Any person can be nominated for an award, if they have been seen to have a meaningful impact on those around them.
