POLICE have carried out foot patrols in a park amid ongoing antisocial behaviour.

Officers from Brighton and Hove Police have stepped up their presence in Preston Park rock gardens in an attempt to combat the issue.

A police spokesman said the targeted patrols have already started to pay off.

“Police community support officer Delyn was back in Preston Park rock gardens. She was conducting regular directed patrols in the area following reports of antisocial behaviour.

“One young person was in the wrong place for them, but the very right time for us - they had their cannabis seized.

“Keep your eyes out for PCSO Delyn and come and speak to her if you have any information, or even just to say hello.

“Please report any antisocial behaviour or suspicious activity to us via 101 or online, but of course in an emergency dial 999.”

Earlier this week, officers from Arun Police carried out foot patrols in Bognor town centre in an attempt to combat ongoing antisocial behaviour.

Meanwhile, officers from Brighton and Hove Police stepped up their presence in the Regency ward of the city.

“They were able to meet and chat with the local community, and apart from speaking to some youths drinking, they were pleased to report that there were a lot of people out enjoying themselves safely and responsibly,” a police spokesman said.
