THE road outside the city’s main hospital will be closed for most of the weekend for development work on the building.

The closure for Eastern Road outside the Royal Sussex County Hospital started from 7pm yesterday and will end at 8pm tomorrow, Sunday July 10.

A crane will be working on part of the hospital.

Eastern Road is closed between Sudeley Place and Paston Place.

The roads in the area are seeing relatively little traffic.

Compass Travel’s 37 and 37B services are diverting via Paston Place towards the Bristol Estate.

While services to the city centre are diverting via Eaton Place and St George’s Road.

Brighton and Hove Buses are taking a similar diversion.
