MULTIPLE people inside three cars involved in a pile-up on a country road have been taken to hospital.

The crash happened this morning just before 10am on the A283 in between Pulborough and Storrington.

The road was closed for several hours and there were long delays as clear up work took place.

Sussex Police confirmed that people in all three of the cars have been taken to hospital with injuries varying from minor to serious. Nobody has suffered life-threatening injuries.

The crash happened between Church Lane and Greatham Lane.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “At 9.55am on Saturday, July 9, police responded to a call from South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb) about a three-car collision on the A283, Pulborough.

“Police attended the scene along with colleagues from Secamb and West Sussex Fire and Rescue.

“Everyone inside the three cars has been taken to hospital with injuries varying from minor to serious, but not life threatening.”

The road is now clear.
