THE top cities in the UK for dating have been revealed.

According to a study by CIA Landlords, Brighton and Hove has been ranked the best city for dating due to the high number of romantic establishments.

The city has more than 105 romantic restaurants and 112 bars per 100,000 people in the city - the highest numbers in the UK for these popular dating venues.

Brighton and Hove also takes top spot for the number of museums and comedy clubs per person.

Newcastle ranked in second place for the best city for dating, followed by Bournemouth and Edinburgh.

In last place was Coventry, which was revealed as the worst city in the UK for dating.

The study used data including the number of traditional dating activities including bowling alleys, cinemas, bars and restaurants to work out an overall score.

Brighton and Hove ranked the highest in the number of comedy club venues, as well as romantic restaurants and bars.

The city also had an overall safety score of 72.8, compared to Newcastle (66.4) in second place and Bournemouth (66) in third.

The rest of the top ten was made up of Edinburgh, Norwich, Manchester, Portsmouth, Leeds, Glasgow and Nottingham.

A CIA Landlords spokeswoman said: “Our study has revealed that Brighton is the best city in the UK for people who love dating.

“This city is well-prepped for date nights with the highest number of romantic restaurants and bars per person in the whole of the UK.

“Brighton was found not only to be a great place for foodies who love to date but also for those who like a bit of variety as the city also ranks top for number of museums and comedy clubs per person too.”
