EASYJET has announced the launch of a new route from Gatwick Airport to a small holiday island.
The flights from Sussex to Porto Santo, a Portuguese island north east of Madeira, are due to begin on November 2.
Seats will be available from £32.99 per person and the weekly flights will take off every Wednesday and Saturday.
EasyJet UK manager Ali Gayward said the new route offers customers in the South East more choice when it comes to picking a winter sun holiday.
“We're delighted to be adding a new route from London Gatwick for this winter, offering our customers more choice to enjoy an even greater range of destinations at fantastic low fares, across our unrivalled European network.” she said.
Known for its warm waters, dive sites and long, sandy beach, Porto Santo is described as an ideal destination for holidaymakers looking for some winter sun.
Stephanie Wear, vice president of the aviation development at Gatwick, said: “We are really pleased to welcome easyJet’s new connection between Gatwick and Porto Santo.
“Portugal is among our most popular destinations, so to be able to offer passengers a new, beautiful island destination is fantastic news.”
