BEACHGOERS faced an unbearable queue for the toilet as thousands went to the seafront to enjoy the sunshine.
Dozens of people were seen in an extremely long queue to use the loo by Shelter Hall on Brighton beach as the temperature hit 27C.
The seafront was once again full of people, with hundreds of parasols lining the beach and people taking to the sea to cool off the mercury crept up through the day.
Temperatures are expected to rise further this week, with the city facing the possibility of breaking a decades-long record on Tuesday.
The Met Office is forecasting Brighton to see 33C, surpassing the record of 32.8C set during the heatwave of 1976.
The city is set to be hotter than several popular seaside resorts, including Ibiza, Rio de Janerio, Kavos, Barcelona and even Honolulu in Hawaii.
An amber weather warning is in place across Sussex for extreme heat until Tuesday, with temperatures set to reach 35C and higher in parts of the county.
