FATBOY Slim has hosted a fundraising event at his seafront cafe to help a local charity.

The DJ, who lives in Hove, has owned the Big Beach Cafe at Hove Lagoon for eight years.

On Sunday, the cafe hosted an event in aid of the local branch of the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association.

Choir and Ko entertained with a variety of music for all tastes throughout the sunny afternoon.

Fatboy, real name is Norman Cook, and his children Nelly and Woody joined in to support their grandmother Julia, who is in the choir.

Nelly, 12, helped by selling raffle tickets, as Woody, 21, entertained the crowds.

More than £1,330 was raised on the day and every penny will go to helping those living with MND and their families in East Sussex

Des Pywowar, 67, from Hove outbid everyone else to buy a signed Fatboy Slim poster for £200.

He said: “I lost a very good friend to MND, it's a brutal disease. I am very happy to support the branch in any way I can - I am a tad old for Norman’s music, but he is a thoroughly decent chap.”
