MOTORISTS on the A27 and A23 this week face several delays due to planned road closures this week.

Five road closures are planned on both roads across Brighton and Hove for roadworks which are expected to cause delays to journeys for commuters.

The first closure begins this evening on the A23 from 8pm and will last until 6am on Wednesday, July 20 at the A23 northbound and southbound in Patcham, due to a lane closure for sign works.

Four other road closures will also take place on the A27 through the rest of this week:

  • A27 eastbound and westbound, Holmbush to Devils Dyke - from 8pm July 19 to 6am July 20: lane closure for barrier repair
  • A27 eastbound, Patcham - from 8pm July 21 to 6am July 22: slip road and lane closure for inspection work, with a diversion in place
  • A27 westbound, Patcham - from 8pm July 22 to 6am July 23: slip road and lane closure for inspection work, with a diversion in place
  • A27 eastbound and westbound, Holmbush to Hangleton - from 8pm July 25 to 6am July 27: tunnel closure for maintenance, with a diversion in place

In some good news for motorists, all five planned road closures are expected to only cause delays of less than ten minutes.
