A MAN has been charged with three robberies, two involving a knife.

Michael Jones, 28, of Belmont Street, Bognor, appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on July 16 and has been remanded in custody until his next appearance on August 15.

A man is reported to have entered the News Box store in Gordon Avenue, Bognor, just before 9pm on Sunday, June 26.

He forced staff to empty the till after threatening them at knifepoint and stole approximately £600.

Twelve days later, on Friday, July 8, a man entered Castle Wines in Felpham Road, Bognor, walked behind the till and emptied it. 

Another man, also from Bognor, was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting a robbery after allegedly acting as a look out. The 31-year-old has been released under investigation.

On Tuesday, July 12 a man walked into the Post Office in Summerley Lane, armed with a craft knife and a hammer, and demanded cash from the till. He then left the premises on foot.
