SUSSEX motorists have eight road closures to avoid this week.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows dozens of roads are due to be shut.

There will be four closures in Worthing, with some continuing from earlier this year:

• A27 - until 6am August 5, eastbound and westbound, Grove Lodge Roundabout to Lancing Roundabout

• A27  until 6am August 12, eastbound and westbound, Lancing roundabout to Warren Road, carriageway and lane closures to renew existing traffic signals and cabling, diversion via local authority network.

A further two closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A27 - from 8pm August 1 to 6am August 2, eastbound, Lyons Farm to Lancing Manor roundabout, lane closure for surface works.

• A27 - from 8pm August 6 to 6am August 8, eastbound and westbound, Manor Roundabout to Grove Lodge, carriageway closure for resurfacing works.

Drivers in and around Mid Sussex will have seven National Highways road closures to watch out for this week, with some continuing from earlier this year.

• A23 - until 5pm August 25, northbound, Bolney, temporary traffic signals on London Road junction 

• A23 - until 6pm July 29, southbound and northbound, Bolney to Hickstead.

A further six closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A23 - from 8pm July 28 to 6am July 29, southbound, Hickstead to Bolney, lane closure for barrier repair

• A23 - from 8pm August 4 to 6am August 5, northbound and southbound, Patcham to Handcross, mobile lane closures for maintenance works

• A23 - from 9pm August 4 to 6am August 6, northbound and southbound, Bolney to Cuckfield Lane, diversion route for BT.

Hastings will have one road closure to avoid on the National Highways network this week.

• A259 - from 8pm July 27 to 6am July 28, eastbound and westbound, Bexhill Road to DeLa Warr roundabout, temporary traffic lights for Southern Water works.
