With Brighton and Hove Pride happening this weekend, excitement will be building for those who are attending.

A big tent and the main stage are ready to welcome the crowds and music acts including Christina Aguilera, Ella Henderson, Paloma Faith and more.

For ticket holders, it will soon be time to get ready for the event so it's worth knowing the items that are not permitted.

Within the frequently asked questions, Brighton and Hove Pride has listed the items that are banned from the event.

Brighton and Hove Pride 2022 prohibited items list

The items listed below are not allowed at any of the Brighton and Hove Pride 2022 events.

  • Psychoactive substances or legal highs
  • Dangerous or hazardous items
  • Drinks except for water
  • Alcohol
  • Dogs except for Assistance Dogs on the Park Festival site. Dogs are allowed on leads into the Village Party.
  • Disposable BBQs, Green Heat Base Camp Cooker, Solid Fuel Stoves,  Firelighters / Firelighter Stoves, Methylated / “Trangia” Spirit Stoves
  • Large rucksacks (bigger than A4 size) or suitcases
  • Flares, fireworks, or pyrotechnics
  • Chinese Lanterns
  • Flyers for distribution
  • Inflatables
  • Large umbrellas
  • Posters, signs, or banners that could be deemed offensive
  • Air horns/Megaphones/claxons
  • Goods for unauthorised trading / with unauthorised Pride Festival logos
  • Portable laser equipment and pens
  • Unofficial tabards and reflective jackets
  • Food hampers and food for sale
  • Fold-up chairs/stools or seat sticks
  • Bicycles/ skateboards and scooters
  • Super soakers/ water pistols
  • Drones
  • Spray cans (paint) or gas canisters
