THE ARGUS is delighted to reveal the winners of its Love Local awards, picking out the very best of the most-loved businesses in our community.

First up is Belle and Co in Lewes, which scooped the Best Local Home Retailer award, for its dizzying selection of unique furniture.

“It came as a complete surprise when I found out that we had won,” said Yad Luthra, the store's director.

“It is really lovely to get some recognition for all the hard work that has gone into setting up and running the shop, not only for myself but my family, friends, the shop staff and everyone who has helped along the way.

“I would like to thank everyone who voted for us.”

Our next award, Best Local Speciality Retailer, goes to ABC Shoreham, a stationery store in Middle Road, Shoreham, set up by Louise Citroni.

“I was absolutely delighted to firstly be nominated and make it to the finals but then to go on and win I’m over the moon,” she said.

“It really does mean so much to me. I opened up in the middle of the pandemic and had nothing but kind words and support from the local community and nearly two years on I’m still here.

“I’m very grateful for all of the votes I received - I’m obviously doing something right and will continue to keep offering excellent customer service and a wide range of products at affordable prices especially in these tough times.”

“We also build computers, for office and home use through to custom builds.”
