FIRE crews were called to a town centre after a bus burst into flames.
Firefighters from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene of the blaze at London Road in East Grinstead at around 2.15pm this afternoon, with police closing the road to traffic.
Fire engines from East Grinstead, Haywards Heath and from East Sussex Fire and Rescue attended the incident, with crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire with hose reels and a thermal imaging camera.
A spokeswoman for the fire service confirmed that the bus had been evacuated prior to their arrival and that the cause of the fire was accidental ignition.
