POLICE are appealing for help in identifying a group of young women they want to speak to in connection with theft of cigarettes and other items from a shop.

Officer said items were stolen from Tesco Express in Denmark Villas, Hove, at around 7.25pm on July 18.

Cigarettes and other items worth hundreds of pounds were taken.

One young woman was seen behind the counter taking items. She was white, with dark hair in plaits, and wore a dark top and shorts with sunglasses.

A second young woman entered the store and also went behind the counter to take items. She was white with brown hair and wore a leopard print jacket and black vest top with sunglasses.

Police said a third young woman took items from the shelves. She was white with dark hair and wore a grey hooded Puma top with sunglasses.

A fourth young woman also took items from shelves. She was white with blonde or light brown hair and wore a black top and shorts with fluffy flip-flop shoes.

Officers believe there may be links with a theft at the Co-op store in Field Place Parade, Goring, on June 14 at 5.45pm when two girls were seen entering the store, taking items off the shelves and then leaving without paying.

One girl was white, with her hair tied back. She wore a black jacket, a white top, blue jeans and white trainers.

The second girl was white or mixed race. She wore a black coat with a fur-lined hood, a white T-shirt, black shorts or a short black skirt, and dark shoes.
