A NURSING home has been rated “good” by the official health and social care watchdog.

Rectory House Nursing Home was praised for its supportive environment following the recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection.

The home in Sompting houses up to 48 elderly residents and offers residential and nursing care.

Inspectors highlighted a culture of care and respect, with staff showing respectful interactions with the residents.

Relatives praised the care staff, informing inspectors that “relatives are always happy. They are very safe here".

Inspectors found staff also spoke positively about the running of the home. One said: "I get on with the manager well. She has a very difficult job, she deals with us and manages the workforce. I have no complaints."

Caring Homes’ Rectory House deputy manager Larisa Stoica said: “We are so pleased with the results of our recent CQC report.

“The whole team at Rectory House has worked hard to improve the care we provide, and it was great to see the recognition of how happy our residents are.

“The report has also shown how a culture of care and respect is at the centre of our home, and how the team is always there to support residents and relatives.”

Larisa said next steps include a detailed plan to ensure the home continues to build on the report and work to improve safety measures and consistency at the home.

“At Rectory House, we ensure all our team is well trained and attend regular resident-led activities that the whole home will enjoy,” she added.

“It is a privilege to work alongside such a dedicated and kind team that is passionate about delivering the highest quality of care for our residents.”
