BRIGHTON Beach is the most popular beach in the country, according to a recent study.
Shoe and sandal brand Dune London analysed over 1,400 beaches by the number of times they were hashtagged on Instagram, with Brighton beach taking the crown with close to a million mentions.
Whitley Bay in North Tyneside placed a distant second with 276,605 hashtag mentions on the social media platform, with Palm Bay in Kent placing third.

Worthing Beach and Portobello Beach in Brighton also featured within the top 20 most Instagrammed beaches.
