A WILDFIRE has broken out in a field near the city.
The blaze broke out around 1.30pm near the B2123 Falmer Road between Woodingdean and Falmer.
The road has been closed between Bexhill Road and Park Street due to a large amount of smoke.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service arrived at the scene at 1.17pm but the fire was “out on arrival”.
Sussex Police have confirmed the road was reopened by around 2pm.
