Motorists face serious delays around Lancing after a burst water main forced police to close a road.
An eight inch pipe burst at the junction between Western Road and Brighton Road on the A259 at about 4am.
Police have closed Western Road northbound near Brooklands while engineers from Southern Water resolve the problem.
The closure is expected to remain in place all day. A diversion is in place and motorists are being warned to avoid the area if possible.
