Established in 1999, this non-competitive open mic session incorporates poetry alongside songs, comedy sketches and extracts from novels.
It aims to provide an unpretentious, unintimidating atmosphere and encourages the participation of people who have never before read their work in public.
Taking place on the last Monday of the month, it features everyone "from the complete novice to the published professional", with well-known local authors lining up alongside enthusiastic amateurs.
- Doors 8pm, performances from 8.45pm, £3/£2. Call 01273 770006 or visit www.sanctuarycafe.co.uk
