Those who attended this show witnessed a masterclass in female impersonation.
In a climate where many young men assume that merely donning a wig and spangly frock makes them fast-tracked to drag performer status, it is refreshing to see a true professional with a respect for the art form at work.
Ceri Dupree took drag to a different level. His costumes and wigs were beautifully crafted but his presence and charisma were the key.
Transforming himself with panache into an array of characters including Zsa Zsa Gabor, Amy Winehouse, Nana Mouskouri and Barbara Cartland, he oozed style and class.
A version of Hello Dolly, incorporating Carol Channing, Barbra Striesand, Danny La Rue and Louis Armstrong, displayed his vocal dexterity, as did impressions of Shirley Bassey and Tina Turner.
A consummate showman, Dupree belongs in the West End or Vegas. Soon.
