A BODY has been found on a Sussex beach, police have confirmed.
HM Coastguard search and rescue, RNLI and Sussex Police were called to Elmer beach, near Bognor, at around 12.30pm.
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: "Shortly after 12.30pm on Thursday, August 18 police responded to a report of a body found at a beach near Bognor.
"Officers searching for missing David Stokes have informed his family about the discovery, but a formal identification has not taken place."
Part of the beach was taped off whilst the teams attended the scene.
