A WEEKEND of Pride celebrations is kicking off today complete with a brand new parade, a festival and family entertainment.
Crawley Pride, organised by Crawley LGBTQU+, is taking place from Saturday, August 20 to Sunday 21.
Today’s theme is “festival vibes” and visitors have been told to expect drag acts including Auntie Ginger and Kitty Scott-Claus, DJs such as Simeon Riley, as well as special guests.
Bars will be available to buy drinks throughout the day, as well as fairground rides, community stalls and food.
This year will also see the first ever Crawley Pride Parade where local groups will make their way through the town in their Pride themed outfits.
The parade will start at 12pm at the Memorial Gardens, before heading towards Queens Square and the High Street. It will then end at Goffs Park at around 1pm.
Tomorrow, Sunday, August 21, a family festival day will be held at the same site based around the theme of “community spirit”.
There will be fairground rides, music and even more acts set to perform from 11am to 7pm.
With Sam Bailey, Anneka Shelley and Dynasty Arts are set to take the stage, alongside lots of local talents.
