What an absolutely ridiculous letter from Sally Barber about the roadworks currently taking place in Brighton (Letters, February 20). It is well documented that the roadworks by West Street are on behalf of Southern Water and are not being carried out at taxpayers' expense.
The roadworks from Saltdean to Peacehaven are to create bus lanes which, when they are completed, will be a godsend to the residents of these communities that use public transport.
Please, if you are going to complain about the bus lane scheme, do not use other roadworks to create a smokescreen about your true complaint, that as a car driver you will not use the bus and everybody that does should be behind you in the transport pecking order.
