A WOMAN has died after being trampled by a herd of cows.
Emergency services were called to a field in Rowner Road in Billinghurst, near Horsham, after concerns for the welfare of a woman.
The 55-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene and her next of kin have been informed.
Her death is not being treated as suspicious.
Officers are investigating the incident, which took place yesterday at 11.40am and are appealing for any witnesses in the area at the time to come forward.
