A RAILWAY line was blocked after a train hit an obstruction on the track.
The incident happened around 10pm between Uckfield and Buxted.
The crash left the train damaged and meant it was “unable to move”.
It is unclear exactly what was on the track.
A Southern Rail spokesman said last night:”Due to a train hitting an obstruction on the track, we can't run between Oxted & Uckfield.
"The line is blocked as the obstruction has cause damage to the train, which is now unable to move. More info to follow when we have it.
“The last service to Uckfield, the 23.07pm from London Bridge, will only run as far as Buxted, where it'll terminate.
"We'll be organising alternative transport from Buxted to Uckfield, please speak to on board staff for more info on this.”
Southern Rail has been approached for comment.
