MOD CULTURE has descended on Brighton with gleaming scooters lining the seafront.

As is traditional on August bank holiday, the mods have flocked to the city to show off their machines and snappy outfits.

Hundreds were parked in Madeira Drive and crowds of passersby stopped to admire the polished mirrrors, headlamps and paintwork.

The scenes come ahead of this weekend's Brighton Mod Weekender which includes a string of events paying homage to the culture.

The event, which has been running since 2004, includes club nights and group bike rides among other activities.

The three-day celebration includes free to attend street events alongside ticketed nights at Komedia and Patterns.
