DOZENS of people queued to claim a free burger from a new vegan restaurant.
Vegan fast food chain Oowee opened its first outlet in Brighton in Market Street, giving its first 100 customers free burgers.
The restaurant also offered free permanent tattoos to its first 15 customers as part of its opening party, with a DJ and merchandise available for purchase along with its range of plant-based burgers, “fried Chick’n”, and dirty fries.
Charlie Watson, co-founder of the restaurant, said: “We cannot wait to help change people’s perspective on plant-based meals, reinforcing that vegan meals can be enjoyed by meat eaters just as much as vegans”.
He said that the restaurant, the first outside of London and founding city Bristol, will focus on “quality, flavour and innovation”.
The chain is also giving away a “Green Card”, providing free food at the restaurant for a whole month.
Customers need to sign up to an email newsletter before September 15 to be in with a chance to get their hands on one of ten of the cards.
